50 Clever One-Panel Comics By Tom Toro That Find Humor In Life’s Little Moments (New Pics)

Tom Toro’s cartoons have a way of making you laugh and think at the same time. Known for his New Yorker panels and the comic strip “Home Free,” Tom blends humor with social commentary, often touching on climate change, politics, and daily absurdities.

We’re highlighting some of his latest work in this post, along with a few insights he shared with us about his creative process. “I never know where my ideas will come from,” Tom told us. “Sometimes it’s an experience I’ve had, sometimes it’s a random image that pops into my mind.” He credits boredom as one of his greatest tools, saying, “Boredom is an artist’s best friend… your brain will begin to entertain itself.” Tom also shared that his love for cartooning started young, sketching characters from “The Little Mermaid” off paused VHS tapes and doodling in the margins of schoolbooks. While his career path wasn’t a straight line, he kept going, learning “drawing by drawing, client by client.” His work proves that humor and heart can go a long way when telling the truth.
